When something lets go at home, the two things you want to know are how soon someone can be there and what it is going to cost. Here are both, up front.
What it costs
You get the price before we start, not after the work is done. There is no separate after-hours charge quietly added to the bill, and nobody will lean on you to approve a bigger job while there is water on your floor. If the honest answer is that this can wait until Monday and save you money, we will say so.
Why West Ashley calls tend to be urgent
A lot of homes here were built between the 1950s and 1970s, and the original cast iron and galvanised pipe is now well past its expected life. When those fail they rarely give much warning. Add the low elevation and heavy rain this side of the Ashley, and a plumbing problem can turn into a standing water problem quickly.
Find your shutoff before you need it
In most older West Ashley homes the main shutoff is a meter box near the street, and it usually needs a meter key. In the newer neighbourhoods off Bees Ferry it is more often in the garage or near the water heater. Ten minutes finding yours on a quiet afternoon can save your floors.
We come out at any hour for
- Burst or leaking pipes
- Sewer backing up into tubs and floor drains
- Water heaters leaking or failing
- Main line breaks between the meter and the house
- Gas smells, which we treat as immediate
- No water, or no hot water
