Where a drain keeps blocking here, the line is usually coated or silted rather than obstructed in one spot.
Sand and long-standing build-up
Beach sand settles along the bottom of a line and stays there, and in the older villas decades of residue sit on top of it. A cable makes a channel through both and leaves them in place; jetting takes the pipe back to its walls.
Shared lines benefit most
Where several homes feed one line, everything from every kitchen accumulates in it. For a regime, scheduled jetting of the shared line costs considerably less than repeated emergency call-outs to individual villas, and it disrupts residents far less.
Best done between seasons
For seasonally used homes, jetting before the season means the line starts clear rather than being dealt with while the house is full.
When we will say no
Older pipe that has already thinned may not take the pressure, which is why we look with a camera first. On a fragile line we will recommend lining rather than risk a break — and on a shared line that caution matters more, because a failure affects several homes.
