If your drain has been cabled more than once in a year, jetting is the difference between managing a problem and actually clearing it.
Scale in cast iron
Decades of buildup inside older North Charleston drain lines narrows them steadily. A cable makes a channel through the blockage; the deposit stays. Jetting cuts it back to the pipe wall, which is why the interval between calls lengthens instead of shortening.
Grease in commercial kitchens
The Rivers Avenue corridor has a lot of food service, and grease lines need jetting on a schedule rather than on failure. A shutdown during service costs far more than the maintenance visit that would have prevented it.
Multi-unit and rental buildings
Shared stacks in older buildings collect everything from every unit. Scheduled jetting on a building with a history of backups is cheaper and less disruptive than repeated emergency calls with tenants affected.
When jetting is the wrong tool
Old cast iron or clay that has already lost wall thickness may not survive the pressure. That is what the camera inspection is for. Jetting a compromised line can turn a blockage into a failure, and we would rather recommend lining.
