Gas work here is dominated by additions — outdoor kitchens, pool heaters, generators and tankless units added to houses piped for less.
Load calculation comes first
Adding a tankless heater, a large range and an outdoor kitchen to a line sized for the original appliances is the most common cause of poor performance we see, and it invariably gets blamed on the appliances. We calculate the total load and size the supply properly before running anything.
Generators after hurricane season
We get a run of standby generator installations after any serious storm. The gas supply is the part most often undersized, because the generator was specified without reference to everything else already drawing on the line.
Outdoor kitchens and fire features
Common in these gardens, and they need properly rated exterior-grade pipe and shutoffs. Salt air is unforgiving of anything specified for indoor use.
Suspected leak
Leave and call the utility from outside. Do not operate switches. Once safe, we locate, repair to code, pressure test and see the inspection through.
