A camera inspection is a small cost that regularly prevents a very large one, and on Johns Island it answers a question a survey will not.
Before you buy here
A standard home inspection does not include the sewer line or tell you much about a septic system. On an older island property that line may be original clay running a long way to the connection, and it is the most expensive thing you can inherit unknowingly. An hour with a camera tells you what you are taking on.
Knowing where the line runs
On large lots with long runs, simply knowing the route and depth saves a great deal of unnecessary digging later. We mark it at the surface while we are there.
Before agreeing to any sewer work
Ask to see the footage. Roots, a sagging section, a crack and a collapse look nothing alike and cost very different amounts to repair.
What we will show you
- What the pipe is made of and roughly its age
- Whether roots are getting in, and where
- Low spots holding water
- Cracks, breaks and separated joints
- Whether lining is an option or it needs replacing
