Gas work leaves no room for guesswork. Everything is licensed, permitted, pressure tested and inspected.
Propane is common out here
Plenty of Johns Island homes run on propane from a tank rather than piped natural gas, particularly away from the main roads. The appliances, regulators and line sizing are different, and it is worth using someone who works with both rather than assuming.
If you smell gas
Leave the house, then call from outside. Do not switch anything on or off on your way out. Once the supply is made safe we will find the leak, repair it properly and have it inspected.
Standby generators
Common here, for good reason — storms take the power out and the island can be slow to come back on. The gas supply is the part most often undersized, because the generator gets specified without accounting for everything else already drawing on the line. We work out the total demand first.
Outdoor kitchens and fire pits
Popular on these properties, and they need proper exterior-rated pipe and shut-offs. Salt air is hard on anything intended for indoor use.
