There is no room for approximation with gas, so every job we do here is licensed, permitted, pressure tested and signed off.
If you smell gas
Leave the house first, then call from outside. Do not switch anything on or off on your way out, lights included. Once the supply is safe we will find the leak, repair it properly and have the work inspected.
Older homes, older pipe
Many James Island homes were piped for a stove and a furnace and nothing more. Adding a tankless water heater or a larger range to that line leaves everything underperforming, and it usually gets blamed on the new appliance. We work out the total demand before running anything.
Salt air and outdoor lines
Anything running outside here corrodes faster than it would inland. Exterior gas pipe, shut-offs and connections for grills and fire pits need to be properly rated for coastal conditions, not just adequate on the day.
Standby generators
Popular here, and sensibly so. The gas supply is the part most often undersized, because the generator gets specified without accounting for everything else already on the line.
