Before agreeing to a sewer replacement that involves trenching your garden, it is worth finding out whether you actually need it.
Most Goose Creek homes do not
We will be straight with you here. Lining is the right answer for old clay and cast iron pipe, and most homes in Goose Creek have modern PVC that is nowhere near the end of its life. If your drains are blocking, that is far more likely something to clean out than a pipe to replace. If lining has been proposed for a house from the eighties or nineties, ask to see the camera footage first.
Where it does apply
The older parts of town nearer the original center have lines old enough for it to make sense, particularly where roots have got into the joints or the pipe runs under a driveway or mature planting you would rather keep.
Why it is worth asking about
Lining creates a new pipe inside the old one through access points that already exist, so the lawn, drive and planting stay as they are. Where it fits the situation, it is far less disruptive than digging.
When it cannot be done
If a pipe has collapsed, or sagged so badly that it holds water, there is nothing sound left to line against. We would rather tell you that after looking than start something that will not work.
