We will be straight with you: almost no home on Daniel Island needs this.
Your pipe is too new to be failing
Trenchless lining exists to rescue old clay and cast iron sewer lines that have cracked or taken roots at the joints. Daniel Island was developed from the nineties onward, so the sewer laterals here are modern PVC with sealed joints. They are decades away from the sort of failure lining is designed for.
If lining has been recommended to you
Ask to see the camera footage, and ask what specifically they found. On a house this age a blocked drain is nearly always something that went down it, or a section that has settled slightly — both of which are much smaller jobs than relining a line.
What is actually worth doing
A camera inspection to see what is really going on, then the smallest repair that solves it. That may be jetting the line, or repairing one settled section. Neither is expensive, and neither involves your garden.
When it would genuinely apply
Only if a section has been damaged — by ground movement or by someone digging into it — and even then a spot repair is usually the answer. We would rather turn work down than sell you something your house does not need.
