Most gas work here involves adding something rather than repairing something, because the existing pipework is relatively new.
Adding to what is already there
Outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pool heaters, standby generators and tankless heaters are the common requests. The part most often got wrong is the sizing — adding a generator or a tankless unit to a line specified for the original appliances leaves everything underperforming, and it gets blamed on the new equipment. We calculate the total demand before running anything.
Capped stubs
Many Daniel Island homes were built with gas lines run and capped for a future range, dryer or grill. If yours has one, connecting to it is straightforward, and it is worth checking before assuming a new run is needed.
Outdoor work needs the right materials
Anything running outside needs exterior-rated pipe and shut-offs. Being surrounded by water, the salt in the air here is harder on fittings than it looks.
If you smell gas
Leave the house first, then call from outside. Do not switch anything on or off on your way out. Once the supply is safe we will find the leak, repair it and have it inspected.
